Hal, only a great mentor like you, could have helped me so dramatically. The past year of achievement directly hinged on your suggestions and support and the incredible amount I have learned from you and others at Academy meetings over the past year. Two offices, docs being hired, great patient satisfaction and money pouring in - ALL possible in just my second year, because you took the time to plant the seeds and share your wealth of real world experience. I will never forget our many motivating conversations and your willingness to share your expertise and I look forward to helping other new practitioners by sharing what I’ve learned – it’s the Academy way!

I just wanted to let you know I thought the conference was great. I'm trying to implement some of the new ideas already. It's always wonderful to hear so much positive podiatry conversation. Please let me know when you have info on the November Florida conference, we want to attend. Thanks too for all the great mentoring support.

I wanted to tell you that this was my first meeting, and it was by far the best podiatry meeting I have ever attended (I have been in practice for ten years). In addition to the great pearls, I really enjoyed the positive energy and camaraderie. Keep up the good work - and thank you!

I just got home after the Midwinter Workshop and I'm really confused...I think a house, spinning out of control must have landed on the Wicked Witch of the West, thrusting me into Oz...that's the only way I can rationalize this weekend. Happy podiatrists? Happy podiatrists willing to share their "secrets"? Happy podiatrists willing to share their secrets... and telling the truth????

Excellent meeting! Unbelievably eye opening and motivational. I hope that next year we'll get together and I'll be able to tell you that my office is soaring! Thank you for everything and keep up the great work!

I have attended hundreds of Podiatry conferences during my 23 years in this profession. This AAPPM Midwinter meeting was the most unusual one I have ever been too. There were 175 podiatrists in attendance in Pittsburgh in February! This group of people from all over the country came together to share and learn. The positive energy among the participants was palpable. The optimism was overwhelming and totally contagious. The speakers motivating and captivating. These 175 podiatrists ate every meal together for 2 1/2 days, relaxed together, partied together and learned together. Both Friday and Saturday night the activities went on past 2:00 AM and they were still talking about podiatry and being successful and about taking care of patients. This little meeting is one of those mostly unknown gems in our profession. There is not a single podiatrist practicing today that would not benefit from the recharge offered by the AAPPM and its’ meetings.

Hal, having good weather here but still missing Florida – what a great meeting! Could you please fax that attachment of your office plans and little hints - they accepted our bid for the land today! We are ready to go but going through office plans now and wanted to see your revised plans. Did you use an architect or a consultant for the ergonomics of your office? We want to go paperless and want to do what is best for this new office.

On a final note, I want to again thank you for your leadership, attitude, energy and guidance of this organization. It is the BEST thing to happen to this office and for me, other than Jan coming in and taking over as office manager. We both can go and learn so much at these meetings - they raise the spirit and renew our energy . See you in Pittsburgh!!!

You will return from an AAPPM meeting reenergized with a list of projects to attack Monday morning. And, if you used your time in the hallways and lecture halls wisely, you will also have an entire network of people to email or phone if you run into trouble implementing it all, which is great for me as a practice manager. This group definitely lives up to its reputation as "the friendliest group in podiatry!"

Lynn, first I want you to know (please share this with John Guiliana) that I have been going to meetings for 35 years and I have never....I repeat, never....learned so much in such a short time! From John's report card and from all that you said, I know where I am and what I need to do. I learned so much from all of you. The best money that I have ever spent was in joining the AAPPM and the second best money was going to the seminar in Chicago.

In my 19 years as a Podiatric Medical Assistant and Office Manager, I have always heard that if you come home from a seminar with 2 or 3 “pearls,” it was “worth it.” So, what do you call it if you come home with a boatload ?? Never have I felt so brimming with solid, constructive “pearls” and thoughtful, valid ideas to apply to our practice upon my return from the Fort Lauderdale meeting at the Lago Mar Beach Resort. The icing on the cake is the newly acquired network of sincerely-willing-to-help friends and colleagues. You just can’t go wrong attending an AAPPM seminar!
